Mr Vũ Hưng is a legend among the callisthenics community in Thống Nhất park. He’s 51 years old and has a killer body. His sharply defined six pack is particularly stunning. Just see for yourself.

I had a brief chat with him. Apparently he has been practising callisthenics for 10 years. Every week he goes to the park for 5 days and does a bunch of basic bodyweight movements. His most recent routine includes around 100 pull-ups, 200 dips, and 300 press-ups, done in 2 hours from 5 pm to 7 pm. Occasionally he squats and runs a bit.
That’s it. Beautiful consistency and simplicity. Mr Hưng almost never misses a workout, and he sticks to the basic bodyweight strength exercises. The result speaks for itself.
The average 50 year old looks like shit. I can only hope I’ll look half as good as he does when I enter my 50s. It’s do-able I suppose, as long as I maintain the lifestyle I currently have.
Personally I’d add some running and lower body strength work into the regimen. Mr Hưng doesn’t seem too bothered with the lack of leg training though. And I suppose pumping out 600 reps in a workout is almost a cardio workout in itself haha.
