When I went to secondary school at Hanoi-Amsterdam, I used to play basketball semi-regularly. I’d practise to consistently score 3-point shots.
(For those unfamiliar, a 3-pointer is a shot made from the 3-point line, around 7.25 metres from the hoop).

Anyway, I stopped playing in my 11th grade and haven’t touched the ball since. It’s been 9 years.
Yesterday I passed by the basketball court at NEU campus and came across one of our IELTS students. He was playing by himself. I joined him, thinking I’d embarrass myself after all those years of inactivity.
So I did miss the first couple of shots, but it seems like the muscle memory was still there. I quickly got the feel for the technique and form and was able to get some accurate shots in after a few minutes.
Muscle memory is real. 10 years apart and yet the moment I began dribbling the ball, I felt like it was just yesterday.
